Do you want to expand your knowledge and enhance your skills in Trauma Informed Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or Student Affairs Administration? Explore Moravian's online certificate options to learn how!

If you have already completed your masters degree, you are eligible to pursue Moravian’s behavioral health certificates!

Students completing the Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling program will automatically earn their Trauma and CBT certificates during their coursework, while Master of Arts in School Counseling students will earn their Trauma certificate. School Counseling students may also complete the CBT Certificate and complete their degree with 66 credits instead of 60. Students who are not enrolled full-time in this program are also eligible to pursue Moravian’s behavioral health certificates.

Areas of Study

Trauma Certificate

Prepare yourself with the knowledge to clearly conceptualize, assess, and treat clients who have experienced a variety of traumatic life events. This certificate will cover trauma-informed care with a focus on the cognitive, neurological, psychological, biochemical, developmental, and interpersonal aspects of trauma work. Course content will address trauma-based diagnoses, traumatic grief, vicarious traumatization, crisis intervention, and how and why socio-political realities cause trauma to prevail in specific populations over generations.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Certificate

Learn how to ethically apply traditional and emerging CBT approaches across a range of practice environments with diverse populations. This certificate will provide a theoretical overview of the theory, principles, and interventions used in CBT.

Student Affairs Administration Certificate

This 12-credit certificate program is for professionals with a master’s degree or above who wish to add a foundation of Student Affairs and higher education administration to their credentials. This certificate introduces students to the field of Student Affairs, Student Development Theory, leadership and administration, and program design and evaluation.

How to Apply

Students who hold a master's degree in any discipline or hold a bachelor’s degree and currently work in the mental health field are encouraged to apply. With no prerequisites to complete, you will begin the path to your certificate right away.

All applicants must begin by completing Moravian’s free . Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis and the GRE is not required for entrance to this program. With your application, please complete the following:
