DAT Student Erin Roberge Hired Full Time by the Packers

Erin Roberge G’24, who had interned with the Green Bay Packers since July 2020, was hired full time as an assistant athletic trainer (AT) in June 2022. She is the first full-time female AT in the franchise’s history, and one of 21 female ATs across the NFL.

Jason Miller G'20, Athletic Trainer to the Nuggets

When the Denver Nuggets won the NBA Championship on June 12 of this year, Jason Miller was right there on the court celebrating with them. Miller is the associate head athletic trainer for the Nuggets and has worked with the players since 2014.

The Â鶹¹û¶³ DAT program can be completed in six semesters over two full years while maintaining a full-time professional position. You can start the program at any of our 3 admission periods: Fall, Spring, or Summer. You'll spend one week each summer getting hands-on training in our state-of-the-art, 40,000+ sq.ft. Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center, complete with:

  • state-of-the-art modalities classroom equipped with Class III and IV therapeutic lasers, shortwave diathermy, therapeutic ultrasound, electrical stimulation, extracorporeal shockwave therapy, fluidotherapy, and cryo-compression units
  • orthopedic evaluation classroom with 12 high-low tables, cameras, and 6 large TV screens that allow for viewing of hands-on techniques from anywhere in the classroom
  • functional rehabilitation space with 3 flooring types (artificial turf, hardwood floor, sport-court) as well as cameras and TV screens to allow for biomechanical analysis of gait
  • research laboratory with access to musculoskeletal (diagnostic) ultrasound
  • casting and splinting lab
  • high-fidelity simulation labs and virtual cadaver lab

When you're not on site, you'll be reflecting and actively altering your practice from what you've learned from our lineup of nationally-recognized content experts.

Course Spotlight: Evidence-Based Assessment & Intervention for the Spine

Taught by: James Scifers, DScPT, PT, LAT, ATC

You'll learn evidence-based evaluation and treatment, including manual therapy interventions, of patients with musculoskeletal and central nervous system disorders of the sacroiliac joint, and lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine.


Jennifer Ostrowski

Meet our Director: Jennifer Ostrowski, PhD, LAT, ATC

Dr. Ostrowski has been an athletic trainer for over 15 years and has 10 years of teaching experience in the field. Dr. Ostrowski’s research focuses on the psychology of injury, and therapeutic modalities. She has authored a national textbook, titled Psychosocial Strategies for Athletic Training, and over 20 peer-reviewed publications, as well as presenting at over 40 professional conferences. Dr. Ostrowski has been awarded several National and private grants to fund her therapeutic modalities research, and was recently asked to serve as a subject matter expert for the NATA's pilot Self-Assessment Module in mental health.
